Technology in the Classroom: Grunwald Associates Survey (October 2008)
A study on education and technology released in October 2008 found a large majority of schools assign homework that requires Internet use. The survey of K-12 educators and library media specialists conducted for Cable in the Classroom (CIC) by Grunwald Associates LLC finds 77 percent of K-12 teachers report that they assign homework that requires Internet use, and students in 42 percent of schools are producing or creating their own videos as part of their schoolwork, with that number rising to 60 percent for high school students.  Read more.

A Cable in the Classroom/Common Sense Media poll conducted by Harris Interactive® - Parenting Moves Online: Parents’ Internet Actions and Attitudes, 2007 -  was released on September 25, 2007.

Parents face new challenges almost weekly to ensure their kids are safe online.
  • What do parents think about the Internet in relation to their children and teens?
  • What Internet issues are most parents experiencing?
  • What steps are they taking to ensure their children are safe and responsible Internet users?
  • Are they actively engaged in protecting and teaching their children and teens about Internet use?
