About eLECTIONS: Your Adventure in Politics

In 2004, Cable in the Classroom (CIC) in partnership with CNN Student News and The History Channel first developed this nonpartisan election simulation game to show how broadband technology – with its capacity to deliver video, audio, excellent interactivity, design and content – can support active, meaningful and memorable learning. Award-winning eLECTIONS was remarkably successful in attracting players and media attention, and providing valuable recognition for cable companies.

CIC has launched a new and improved version of eLECTIONS. This ‘evergreen’ learning module with contemporary and historical perspective is a free resource available to teachers, students, parents, and policymakers for years to come.

eLECTIONS is a powerful online learning experience that demonstrates how the cable industry’s technology and programming can play a valuable role in learning. CIC updated this free, 3-Dimensional multimedia game with content from our new programming partner, C-SPAN, as well as new video content from our original networks CNN Student News and HistoryTM.

“I am a computer teacher in Omaha, Nebraska, and this has been an excellent way to teach my Sixth Graders what it takes to get elected. Thank you for working so hard. The graphics are incredible and my students just love the game. My inner city students have gone from ignoring the election to wanting to be president. Thanks a lot.”
