Robin Scullin, Director, Programmer and Media Relations At Cable in the Classroom, Robin Scullin serves as the primary liaison with cable networks. She works closely with programmers on CIC’s strategic initiatives, coordinating outreach for program launches and helping to deliver multiple platform materials for classroom use. Robin is also the key media contact for Cable in the Classroom, and works with the press to garner feature stories on the cable industry’s commitment to education. Prior to joining CIC, Robin worked most recently in public relations, as a Vice President of Media at Hill & Knowlton’s Washington, DC office and also at Levick Strategic Communications, a high stakes communications firm in Washington, DC. Her roles encompassed a wide array of expertise - from strategic counsel, reputation management, public affairs initiatives and major nationwide media campaigns for public companies, private institutions and major U.S. law firms. Robin also spent a decade at the public affairs network, C-SPAN, working directly with top executives on media promotions and programming. She worked with local communities on promoting the C-SPAN School Bus, C-SPAN Education Foundation programs and multiple cable industry initiatives. She helped launch new satellite radio and broadband platforms, and promoted the C-SPAN position on telecommunications issues. Robin was also a team leader who spearheaded the C-SPAN and Comcast Students & Leaders program, which was awarded the cable industry's prestigious Golden Beacon Award. Prior to that, she was the producer of C-SPAN's signature Booknotes program, hosted by network founder, Brian Lamb. She was also a founder of the network's Book TV on C-SPAN2, the weekend author network. Robin has distinguished herself as a journalist - at Congressional Quarterly - and as a corporate affairs writer, at Home Box Office. Robin began her career as an editor at Little, Brown and Company Publishers. Robin has an M.A. in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University and a B.A. in American Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
