Rhonda Yates, Senior Director, Operations and Strategic Initiatives

As Senior Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives at Cable in the Classroom (CIC), Rhonda Yates is responsible for implementation of strategic planning and ongoing planning processes at CIC. She helps ensure that CIC implements its strategic and tactical goals. In addition, she oversees the day-to-day operations of Cable in the Classroom.

Prior to joining Cable in the Classroom, Ms. Yates was Director of Education Services at Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB). She oversaw the day-to-day operation of the instructional services staff and the implementation MPB’s educational resources and educational technology in Mississippi classrooms, including video-on-demand and video streaming. Ms. Yates also served on the Between the Lions educational board, the steering committee for Creating Futures Through Technology Conference, and the Mississippi Council for Technology.

Ms. Yates also has five years experience with the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) where she was Information Technology Planner. She was the project director for the Enhancing Education Through Technology program, Mississippi Teacher Leadership Project funded by the Gates Foundation, and Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology (PT3) grant. In addition, she served as Lead Trainer for the state in the implementation of the statewide training for the integration of technology into the K-12 classroom.

Rhonda Yates has 22 years of K-12 classroom experience and holds a Master degree in education from Delta State University.
