This film chronicles Jefferson's complicated life and legacy through interviews with historians and scholars and includes scenes shot at Monticello. The filmmakers try to reconcile some of the enigmas of Jefferson: an author of the Declaration of Independence was also a slave owner; a President who advocated fiscal responsibility but whose personal finances were mired in debt; and more.
