Take A Veteran to School Day
History developed Take a Veteran to School Day as a national initiative to link veterans of all ages with young people in local schools and communities. The program encourages schools to connect their local veterans with students to hear their stories of service and learn more about Veterans Day. These events, organized on or in the weeks leading up to Veterans Day, can range from a simple one-class visit with veterans to an all school assembly. Visit History to register for this free program and to view sample agendas and a wealth of free curriculum resources.
