The HISTORY™ Take a Veteran to School Day program connects our veterans with local schools, communities, and elected officials. Now in its fourth record-breaking year, Take a Veteran to School began in one Connecticut school and has grown to include over 2,500 schools in all 50 states. From the greatest generation to the latest generation, veterans have shared their stories and received the appreciation of all ages of students and community members. As part of this initiative, HISTORY provides free materials including lesson plans, how-to guides, and streaming video resources. A dedicated website allows easy access to resources and links to organizations that support veterans and their families.
