Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Haiti Rising? Life in the Ruins
Nick News with Linda Ellerbee: Haiti Rising? Life in the Ruins follows the stories of kids living in Haiti and dealing with the reality of life in the Western Hemisphere's poorest country that was also devastated by an earthquake. Nearly half of the population is under 18 and more than half of the nation's homeless are kids. Says Ellerbee, "We can't look at rebuilding and recovery as impossible tasks because the story of Haiti is a kid's story. The world must not fail them." Almost 95% of the rubble from the quake has yet to be cleared and there is a regular struggle for food and clean water. This special shows the lives of several kids who have struggled to overcome the earthquake's destruction, including those living in shanties and tent cities.
