Broadband: Broadband Everywhere

Broadband Everywhere - Home & schoolAlthough today’s students face dramatically different challenges and opportunities in school, in work and in life than previous generations, it is certain that the role of education-enhancing technologies like broadband will be increasingly important.

Indeed today, in the hands of students and teachers, the use of broadband technology already has begun to transform teaching and learning from a one-size-fits-all approach to an experience that is much more personal, engaging and flexible.  With broadband, teaching and learning can even expand easily beyond the school setting to other venues like a student’s home or a local community center.

There are many examples demonstrating ways in which the power of broadband can be brought to bear on education wherever it happens.  And, just as importantly, there are numerous proposals through which broadband can reach more teachers and students to serve the needs of education and enhance its potential.
